New this month — Tudor and Omega
Curated Timepieces. Timeless Provenance.
Pre-owned fine watches, sold exclusively through Lumière. Every piece is authenticated in-house, described honestly and shown by private appointment in Melbourne — none of them is listed anywhere else.

A watch is only as considered as the hands it has passed through. Every piece we offer arrives with its history intact.

The houses
Pieces from the maisons we know best, found one at a time and checked in the salon before any of them is offered. We would rather wait for the right example than list the first one.
Lumière is independent, and not an authorised dealer for any house shown.
A history in every mark.
Each of these houses earned its name over generations — in Geneva and Paris, in the valleys of the Jura and in Tokyo. Every piece we find carries a little of that history with it.
Rolex
Founded in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis, and in Geneva since 1919. Its Oyster of 1926 was the first waterproof wristwatch case.
Patek Philippe
Founded in Geneva in 1839 and owned by the Stern family since 1932. Known for grand complications, the Calatrava and the Nautilus.
Audemars Piguet
Founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux, and still in the hands of its founding families. Its Royal Oak of 1972, drawn by Gérald Genta, made steel a luxury.
Omega
Founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848, and now in Biel. A Speedmaster was worn on the Moon during Apollo 11 in 1969.
Cartier
The Paris jeweller founded by Louis-François Cartier in 1847. The Santos of 1904, made for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, was among the first men's wristwatches.
Vacheron Constantin
Founded in Geneva in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron, the oldest watch manufacture in continuous operation. Known for the Patrimony and the Overseas.
IWC Schaffhausen
Founded in 1868 by the American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones, on the Rhine at Schaffhausen. Known for its pilot's watches, the Portugieser and the Ingenieur.
Panerai
Founded in Florence in 1860 by Giovanni Panerai, it made precision instruments for the Italian Navy. The Radiomir and the Luminor began as watches for its divers.
Rado
Founded in 1917 in Lengnau, Switzerland, and known for hard materials: the scratch-resistant DiaStar of 1962, and high-tech ceramic since the 1980s.
Tissot
Founded in Le Locle in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile. Known for value and a long run of firsts; the PRX revives a design of 1978.
Bvlgari
The Roman jeweller founded by Sotirios Voulgaris in 1884. Its watches are made in Switzerland, and the Octo Finissimo has set a string of records for thinness.
Grand Seiko
Seiko's finest watches, first made in 1960 and a house of its own since 2017. Known for Zaratsu polishing, the Spring Drive movement and dials drawn from Japanese nature.
Hublot
Founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, Hublot made its name pairing a gold case with a natural rubber strap. The Big Bang of 2005 began its fusion of unlikely materials.
Mont Blanc
Founded in Hamburg in 1906 as a maker of pens. Its watches are made in Le Locle and in Villeret, home of the Minerva manufacture, founded in 1858.
Breitling
Founded by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier in 1884, and a chronograph specialist ever since. The Navitimer of 1952 put a slide rule for pilots on its bezel.
Jacob and Co
Founded in New York in 1986 by the jeweller Jacob Arabo, with its watches made in Geneva. Known for high jewellery and theatrical complications such as the Astronomia.
Van Cleef and Arpels
The Place Vendôme jeweller, founded in Paris in 1906. Its Poetic Complications turn the hours into small scenes, as lovers meet on a bridge in the Pont des Amoureux.

Authentication & Trust
We are a small reseller, so the checks are the ones we can do properly ourselves. None of it is a laboratory certificate and we don’t pretend otherwise — it is the inspection we would want done before buying a watch ourselves.
We open the case back, read the serial and reference, and check they match the model and the paperwork that came with it.
Every watch is wound and worn for a few days. We note how it runs, and whether the crown, date and bracelet work as they should.
Scratches, replaced parts and service history are listed and photographed. What you read in the listing is what arrives.
Box, warranty card, service receipts — we record what came with a watch and photograph it beside the piece. Where there are no papers, the listing says so.
